A Marine Hero

The story of a tough Marine is spreading all across the Web. Here, here, and here, for starters. The photo alone is amazing and should become one of the more memorable images of the American Fighting Man in the War on Terror. The Marine took seven hits from an AK-47 and shrapnel in back as he shielded a wounded Marine from a grenade. Click on the image below to see the full photo.

Doing a Google for Brad Kasal, the Marine’s name, I found him mentioned in a story from 2003, where he’s identified as a First Sergeant with the First Battalion, Fourth Marines.
